Can i put a wide tire on my 83r?

hi my front bearings are shot on my 83 honda 250r but before i replace them i was wanting to know if i can somehow put a wide front tire from the older r's on my 83? will the old trips and hub bolt up? brake? i know my forks are far superior to the old r so id like to keep mine!

yes, 81/82R triple clamps will bolt right up.

bore the triple clamp holes out to hold the 83/84 forks you've got and there ya go!

what about the spindle hub and brake? will they bolt up to the fatter wheel?

ok im going to order trips unless someone wants to trade for mine? mine are chrome powdercoated, look sharp!

what about the hub? can i use mine with the 82 axle? not sure on that help would be most appreciated!!

easiest way to do it would be to swap the triple clamps, forks, wheel, tire, hub and axle from the 81/82 250R. that will all bolt right up with no modifications. you can even use your 200x front brake setup.

cool, ill order the 81-82 trips and axle and hope it works out i really dig the fat front wheel look! even if it is a downgrade...

im in the process of doing this to my 200x. i like the wide front end look too. post pics of what you end up with. i also have some parts that might help so you dont have to go through ebay
