2-stroke engine

I plan for the year 2004 to rebuild a 2-stroke trike. I would prefer to rebuild a tri-z or a 250R if I can find one... and I would like to know how much would it cost to rebuilt one ?? sorry if you think this question is stupid ! My bro' just rebuild a tri-moto 225 DX '84 and it cost him around 1300 can to rebuild it (trike include) so I want to do the same thing but with a 2-strokes.

Really tought to pin down without knowing what trike and the condition.
Are we talking just mechanicals or cosmetics?
Air or water cooled trike?

Yeah..Seriously. Way too rboad of a question. My tip to you is: Dont go looking for junk if you arent experienced. Find a good running machine that you can improve as you wish.

how can I paid for a 85, 86 tri-z or a 250r in ''good'' shape ??? or do you think a 4 strokes would be equivalent as a 2 stroke ?

no go with a 2 stroke they are much more simple and cheaper to rebuild being there is no valve train or anyhting like that to mess around with top end wise you can rebuild a 2 stroke for about 150$ about 100$ for piston kit 35$ for gaskets 25-50$ for bore job if needed when you start getting into the bottom half is ware the big money comes into play. when you do go to rebuild a bike go to www.denniskirk.com they have soem pretty cheap prices and they are open 24/7 with a free 1-800 number to call
