Had two junk frames laying around that I looked at for quite a while, then decided I could maybe make one good out of the two...... I have zero dollars into this entire rolling chassis. I'm going to build a a Waterpumper out of all pretty much spare parts.

So first I cut the one with a good subframe in half. This frame had heavy neck damage and was in poor shape up front.

I pretty much figured out that the 250R frame was basically a two piece design anyway. So I cut away everything of the junk half.

Then grinded all the weld off the bottom until I could pull out the small front part of the frame that was a slip joint.

Now time for the other frame, this was the good front half. So now I had two make sure the front half was kept intact. This sub frame was heavily damaged and tweaked beyond repair.

I grinded on the slip joint until I could just say the front half of the frame sticking through.

Then used a wheel to cut straight through the rear part.

After That, did some clean up grinding for fitment, slid the pieces together, mounted a bare block in the frame did some simple measuring and took it and had it welded. Stil no pics of the welds as my camera was full.

Nice work dissecting the 250R frame. But, what I like the most, is that swing bike on the 2nd pic. Now that's pretty rare...

TORKER.

Do you use a used chop saw disc for cutting with a grinder?Little dangerous but some times it's required. The heck with the bike. The 60s vintage Ford is cooler.

LOL, Yes thats a swing bike. I picked it up a month ago in really bad shape. All I had was a frame torker. It's completly restored now.

Man you guys dont miss a beat.... Thats my 65 F100 I'm restoring, it has a ford lightning drive train in it S/C 5.4.

Yes I used a chop blade on a grinder, I dont like doing it. I wear a really thick pair of gloves and take my time.
