Hi there all,
Other than the tank decal and grey dash what did the 88 get that the other big reds/super rds didn't? Any diferences?
How many are believed to have been produced?
I tried finding the scans of the brochure posted on here but was unsucessful. If someone could point me in the right direction that would be great too.
All the info I can get would be great, because I will need it in a couple of days when i go see a fellow who...........:)
Cheers

Been searching all day, found all the threads and the brochures scans on here and every other site i could think of,but still cant find the thread where somone mentioned how many may have been made?
Ive seem to be finding conflicting statements as to how rare these are.
Any info at all in regards to the 1988 big red or Australian sold Super Red would be great.
Cheers again

i seem to remember someone saying around 600 were made from looking at the frame numbers but can't say for sure.

The 3WW site has production numbers on it for most of the models and years up to 86, I don't think the 87 or 88 numbers ever found their way here..
But particularly for the 88, which only sold to UK and Australia, very little if any published information exists.
As far as differences between the 87 and 88 model, that too would be hard to verify without standing them side by side.
It would be my opinion that there is likely no difference. Since Honda at that time was tooling down because it lost it's major market, they probably just refreshed the cosmetic and called it Super Red to create an appeal in order to help them sell off remaining units..
Just a theory though!

Great work!
Thanks a heap for the replies all.
That's the exact thread I was searching for MonreoMike.
Anyone know exactly what engine part differances there were?
Ktmcrasher what differences can you see on yours, and what your vin number like?
The one on the trike I'm looking at at the moment is JH3TE0407JK40137. Is that similar to yours?
Thanks again
Cheers

It's stuck behind other bikes at the mo & covered in junk. Can't get the vin as its to rusty to see. I will have to clean the rust off first
