My brother and I finally got out on the Altura Trail. (link) http://files.dnr.state.mn.us/maps/ohv/southeast_mn.pdf

I live right in Altura, (pop. 500) and the trail starts about 1/4 mile from my house. My brother rode my Big Red, I took my 185. They just opened it up after a long delay due to one of the bridges being washed out from all the rain and high water. What an awesome trail. There's the perfect combination of rocky, steep, scary parts mixed with nice flat areas that you can go in 3rd or 4th gear safely. There's even some areas where the trail spills out onto the gravel roads where you can open it up a little bit. Lots of heavy duty bridges along the way. The only thing I didn't like to see was that of the dozen or so other riders we met along the way, only 1 was wearing a helmet. It was a perfect day to ride. Low 80s, breezy, and sunny. We had to go really slow about 3 different times to get the cows off the trail. Both trikes ran great; no problems. Here's some pics:

Looks like a nice ride. I don't run into too many cows in the Arizona desert! That 185s is in great shape. I've always liked those bikes.

Well it doesn't look like it's getting any marks for technical challenge..typical of of the places in SW Ontario but it has nice scenery. All and all a great place for an all day ride.

Perfect place to take my wife and daughter, neither is an experienced rider nor do they like a challenging trail.

Yeah, it's rated an "easy" trail. There are some really steep rocky areas that you really have to pay attention to, though. Took us almost 3 and a half hours down and back. Of course, we stopped a lot along the way to chat :D
