can anyone help me id the year of this 250r motor?

i think it is an 85 or an 89...these are the #'s on it TB06E
1005764 . it has a silver cylinder and a grey case finish. can anyone tell? it is a watercooled motor, i got it out of a bike of all things!

well it cant be an 85 as thoes were all black. my guess an 86 but i dont know by numbers

I think the 89's were silver, they are a lot better engine than the 85/86's, but basically the same bottom end, (differnt piston and rod length I think).

From what I know, the 85's were all black, 86's and 87's were all grey, and 88's and 89's were had a black bottom end and a grey top end (like my 89).

Don't forget though, sometimes a bike owner gets a crazy idea in his head and decides to paint the motor a different color. But, I'm sure that whoever would put an ATC/TRX motor in a 2 wheeler frame isn't that crazy.
