Has anyone every tried using a 1984 xr 350 twin carb motor in a 350x chassie. It seems like it may have more power from what ive read about xr350 motor

why would you want do do that? RFVC motors are rare for parts and costly plus i garentee theres no room for dual carb. the 350X motor would be best to stay in the 350X and just use a 400ex carb i think is the cool hot swap.

I was just wondering a guy i work with gave me his xr350 and was wondering if it was worth doing. So the dual carb was a one year deal for the xr350?

83-84 RVFC 85 was single. RFVC motors has cooling issues, they had power but like to be run. so get the bike running and ride it, but dont put it in a 350x. some parts work from 83-85 XR250R and 84-85 xr200r...all motors were RFVC's power houses in their day but now is a pain to find motor parts I think wiesco may make pistons yet for them, i know it was starting to get hard to find parts for my 84 rfvc xr200r but it would toast a new one anyday.

I agree with Oldskool83. The 400EX carb would be easiest to make fit. Some improvement but you may want more.
If the motor has some modifications such as a camshaft/HC compression piston, exhaust etc; you may even want to look into a 450FCR carburetor de-tuned a bit.
There are allot of guys here that had the patience to jet and plug chop again and again and got it running great!
This is where we hope others pop in and tell you how either carburetors difficulty to installation went/jet for crisp response and or what few mods they made for it to fit as well as their suggestions.
