What would happen to a 2 stroke motor if you ran straight gas, with no oil?

Engine wouldn't be long for this world if run that way for more than a few seconds... Piston would likely seize first.. and lack of oil would ruin the bottom end too as the oil in the fuel is all that lubricates the crank bearings, rod bearing, wristpin bearing and cylinder walls.....
But if the engine had been run with the proper pre-mix and not at some ridiculously low oil ratio there would likely be enough residual oil in the bottom end to help it survive to a degree.
really bad damage, because theres no lubrication whatsoever, and the engine would wear and overheat till it seized and destroyed itself

it would run like a raped ape for 1 to 5 min then it will lockup and then you will get to learn how to rebuild it

I am trying to fix an EZ90 Honda Cub for a guy, and it seems seized. I'm thinking the guy didn't know it was a 2 stroke :(

I think those might be oil injected, but not certain. If so, it will have a main take for gasoline, and a smaller one for 2 stroke oil.

Years ago, I had a buddy who got a really cool machine called a "Penguin", basically a small two seat amphibious weird looking thing...he ran it for at least 10 - 15 miles on straight gas and it was a 2 stroker!!! Don't know how it survived that long, I'm guessing it wasn't empty when he started filling the gas back up and it had barely enough mix gas/oil left in what was left in the tank to survive. When it seized he was stumped...so was I until I asked him what ratio he was missing the gas at and then he got this dumb look on his face! LOL.

If it wasnt running long or high RPMs at the time of seizure...SOMETIMES you can get them unstuck.Take the head off and look at the cyl. walls for score marks. No deep marks?, pour a small amount of 2 stroke oil on top of the piston. LET SOAK! and then you take a piece of 2x2 wood and a hammer, lightly tap the top of the piston with it.Sometimes you can get the to free up. Good luck!

I'll have to tear it wayyy down to get at the motor, I may not get to it until after TRIKEFEST.

Man she's runnin good today!! BRAAAAAAAPAPPPPPPP!!! Boom following by clucking sounds... Not good lol
There is usually enough residual oil in the crankcase of a 2-stroke to last a little while. They will run a lot longer than you would think, but once that oil is used up its not long after that.
