comes down to your area and what its worth to you
if it truly NEEDS rings, it wont start. maybe theres somethig wrong with the kicker or kicker assembly if hes bump starting it
somethin looks weird with how tall the rear end is.
goobered headlights. likely a hackjob
Bassani pipe and silencer is a plus, maybe that 200x front end is a plus too, if youre into that sorta thing
seat isnt proper

Offer to buy the pipe, the rest is not worth what he is asking. If you could get it down around 5 bills it would be worth it. IMO

He said he would take 5 but I'm just waiting to see if there is anything wrong with the kickstart

He says it needs new rings. Which means it barely runs. Only way to start it is by pop starting it.. Which means there is not enough compression to start it with the kicker. Its probably not broken, but just cant be started with it too easily.
I would pass on that. Even at $500 its too much I think.
Check this one out. Its alot... But it is sweet.

This bike has been apart and repainted and not well. i personally would rather buy one for 5 and redo it right and know what is all redone than buy one for 1200 redone like that one is.

Dozer: Personally, I would want an original, unmolested 1st gen for a price much over 5 or 600, even if it needed work. Nothing wrong with the upgraded components I guess, but I think it kind of detracts from the value a little bit. Again, just my opinion....
An immediate problem I see is that with that 200x fender, no air is getting to the fins (a real 250r front fender had slots in it) and thus less cooling. Maybe thats why the rings went bad. Im always worried about my X over heating, but with a 2 stroke that had double the power strokes per rpm than my thumper, I can imagine that the engine would be HOT

The real OEM 250r fenders did NOT have slots. I've got a complete, OEM, unmodified fender on the front of the Nicholson 250r. Pushed it as hard as I could this last weekend and didn't have a single issue. Yes, the modified fenders do allow more air, but a full front fender certainly wouldn't be solely responsible for a melt down
