I HAVE A MACHINE SHOP MAKING ME BILLIT FUEL CAPS FOR MY TECATES. I DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH THEY'LL COST AND IT MIGHT TAKE THEM A COUPLE OF MONTHS TO GET THEM DONE (THEY'RE VERY BUSY). I'M SICK AND TIRED OF THE OEM PLASTIC ONES CRACKING ON ME. WOULD ANYONE ELSE BE INTERESTED IN SUCH A PRODUCT? I'LL SEE IF HE'D START MAKING THEM IF THERE IS ENOUGH INTEREST.

IF HE CAN MAKE SOME FOR 250R'S I WOULD PROBLY BE INTERESTED IF HE ISNT CHARGING MORE THEN THE ONES THAT PRO DESIGN MAKES

yeh, find out a price, and im sure he could do some R ones, and i would prolly want one depending on quality and price

Yeah I would be interested depending on the price. My cap is still good , but if the price is decent I would like one :!:

For what its worth, my 85 250R Gas Cap went right on my 84 Tecate Tank. It was a little snug in the opening but, the threads fit well and it tightened up. I did not try it in riding conditions, I just know it went on.

I checked it on the request of an idea from TecateCrazy. Today I will try my 85 R cap on my 86 KXT as I can't remember if the caps are different (they do look different) between the 84 & 86 Tecates. I no longer have an 84 tank or cap. :(

Anyway it MIGHT be beneficial for someone to look further into using available 85/86 ATC 250R caps, if there are any. It's worth a shot. Maybe TecateCrazy found out?

Jeb- there are MANY aftermarket caps for the R's, aluminum, plastic, everything

The 250r caps are smaller. A Banshee cap is the right size but the threads are different.

Yep, tried it last night. My 85 R cap is smaller than the 86 KXT. :(

Id be interested in the machined tank cap...as long as it wasnt Neiman Marcus priced like the a/m plastic on ebay.

they are high prices. i paid it, but there are no other choices. looking forward to that gas cap.
