We all know who won! The tri-moto 225. One of the best 3 wheelers EVER made! DUHH!

J/k. I bet the magazine gave it to the 250sx. I do have to say, if you haven't driven a 225dx you really are missing out. Great bike. I do miss my 250sx though.

I have owned all three and I am pretty sure the 200x won the overall comparison but between the 225 and 250sx would really be rider dependent. The Yamaha is faster then the sx in acceleration and top speed but the sx seemed to feel a little sportier and had a lot more ground clearance for offroading. I never preferred one over the other, it just depended on what mood I was in that day on which one I road.

I would appreciate it, if you would post that article. I always wanted to read that one when I had the DR and SX.

Thanks for the scan! The only thing I don't agree with is the reverse lever on the Yamaha. My 85 was smooth as butter but it did have quite a few more miles on it then the brand new one in that article!

Retail price 1849$: best $ ever spend by the last owner of my 225DX!

i agree with the magazine too, the sx is just a lil better mostly because of the trimotos overwheeling status, its easier to ride sand dunes on the sx for sure, plus it will wheelie with the best of em.
the issue i was thinking of was on dare i say - 3wheeler.org- but was retracted, it had the 200x vs 250sx vs 225 on the cover stacked on top of each other in a triangle formation, but its probably a lost cause trying to find it, i just cant decide whats better a 200x or the sx

the hands down winner for me is the 250SX..

but then it's almost an unfair comparison since the two machines are so vastly different. manual clutch sport trike vs loaded semi-auto sport utility trike. They aren't even in the same class..

thanx myles for the scans.
i dig the auto clutch, not a manual clutch fan but a auto x with electric start from a 200e is hard to beat!!

Does anybody know of the dirtwheels mag im speaking of? i must be getn old....

I am surprised at the magazines praise towards the 225's offroading ability due to its limited ground clearance. I got high centered a lot on mine but I did take it places a lot of people wouldn't dare. I also never had the light front end problem with mine, no more then I did with the SX. The SX was easier to wheelie in my opinion, third gear wheelies were a lot of fun until I lost control one day and went for a slide on my back with the three wheeler riding me instead. :lol

When I'll get my 200x running and after a little seat time, I will be able to tell you what is better between a 225DX and a 200x!
