just put my new carb i ordered for my 83 200x on. the intake was too small so i dremeled it out to match the carb but now the dern rubber boot for the airbox wont fit around it either? this carb is for a 200x for sure, am i supposed to run a clamp on filter? i dont want to rip the boot trying to stretch it over.

Get a pan of water nice and hot, then you can heat the whole end of the boot at one time and you can get it good and hot. heat it up until it slides nicely over the end of the carb.

80 degree sun ain't squat.

Is it this one?

I bought Keihin carburetor from DG for my 83 200x and it bolted right up. Technically, I was told it is a 26mm even though the part number suggests it is 27mm. I warmed up the intake boot in hot water and it slipped on no problems. The inner diameter of the manifold is a little smaller than the carburetor but it works until you get a larger manifold, e.g., XR manifold.
