Its got a rebuilt motor, (dont know if it was top and bottom or just top), rebuilt front forks, rebuilt carb, twist throttle, and k&n airfilter, and new sprockets. I dont know about the rear suspension, and brakes but they probably work. How much do you think it is worth?

800$ looks to be in alright shape other then the color sceme looks kind of iffy on it.

Id give $500 for it. Also, is the plastic painted, or did they somehow find some rare gray plastic?

Tri-Z Pilot

more, it's also got new handlebars and tires.

Looks like there is no front motor mounts, and the kick lever doesnt have a bolt in it.

TRI-Zbrian
12-18-2003, 09:15 PM
wah you are right the motor mounts are missing and the kicker bolt too lol i wonder if the kicker is stripped out yet

Tri-Z Pilot
12-18-2003, 09:18 PM
I know my kicker is stripped out, LOL!

The guy just e-mailed me, he said the whole motor was rebuilt and he has receipts. I e-mailed him back asking about the missing motor mounts.

TRI-Zbrian
12-18-2003, 09:27 PM
when i got mine it was missing half of the motor mounts also its the whole reason i tore my bike all down i never trust any one so i took it all apart and am slowly replacing little stuff here and there and adding performance parts here and there also to make up for the lost riding time

I am actually going to be trading my blown up 01 blaster, so I think it sounds like an even deal.

id say the posts are about right. 800-900. looks a little ratty and plastics are nasty in my opinion.

slippy4
12-18-2003, 09:33 PM
mine were also missing when i got mine, i think just because of vibration reasons is why they fall out. sounds like a good deal if the whole motors been gone through!

Tri-Z Pilot
12-18-2003, 09:36 PM
The guy says the motor mounts are on there, but why isnt there any bolts sticking out of the holes in the front, thats the way mine are on my 85 tri-z, are there supposed to be threads in those holes?

TRI-Zbrian
12-18-2003, 09:45 PM
i think you can screw them in on eather side of the frame tube that might be why we cant see them if you are trading your blown up blaster go for it becaus ethat tri z in the long run will be worth more then the blaster any day. but ask about the kicker its going to strip out not having a bolt in it like that but its not a realy big deal

slippy4
12-18-2003, 09:48 PM
yes, there is threads inside the frame, not bolts with nuts, i was wondering how you could tell that there is not motor mounts in there.

I'm not really concerned about the kicker gear, I am sure I can find one pretty easily. The guy says that he will drive to my house, so it looks like I am going to have another 85 tri-z. I think I am going to make one of the tri-z's have a bit more bottom end, pretty much stock (for my dad to ride), and the other tri-z is going to be a top end screamer (mine).

TRI-Zbrian
12-18-2003, 09:53 PM
ive got a complete kicker gear with spring on it if you need one lol just pm me

Thanx tri-z brian, I may just do that, check out these cool lights.

TRI-Zbrian
12-18-2003, 10:04 PM
how the hell did he do that lol it kind of looks cool im going to go to the auto parts store and by one of the those strobe kits for cars and install them into my headlights lol i was prolly going to get yellow stobes the kind you drill a whole into the headlight housing and put the small strobe doun inside and lol i think it will be kind of bad ass to flick them on in the pits at night time lol or pull people over moo hahah

if you painted the frame to mach the color of the fenders i dont think the bike would look half bad build her up nice dude :D looks like a solid foundation for a bad ass trike lol i like those head lights get back to me on how he did that exactly

slippy4
12-18-2003, 10:10 PM
looks like he just painted them?

03 ORANGE SHEE

TRI-Zbrian
12-18-2003, 10:37 PM
yeha its worth 800 to 1000$

Trikeaholic
12-18-2003, 10:43 PM
500 max. when someone paints stuff, and "customizes" it, it drops the value considerably. YOu guys all over pay for stuff.

HAHAHA the rear plastic has been stitched! I'd trade a Blaster for it too. IT would look WAYYYYY better if the frame was painted to match the plastics.

I'd give a mint for that orange kick start lever! :D

I just saw receipts for a complete engine rebuild, and I mean complete! All the brakes work, and the guy will deliver, 30 minutes or less, or it's free! LOL!

TRI-Zbrian
12-19-2003, 12:07 AM

Tri-Z Pilot
12-19-2003, 12:10 AM
You know, it totally slipped my mind, I'll have to ask.

TRI-Zbrian
12-19-2003, 12:16 AM
yeah it would suck to find out it was already 80 over but i would prolly still do it if it was it aint that big of a deal to get a new sleive.

Tri-Z Pilot
12-19-2003, 12:18 AM
I have a cylinder with the stock bore and brand new piston on my other tri-z right now.

TRI-Zbrian
12-19-2003, 12:22 AM
ive got one on my new tri z also with only like 1 hour on it lol i love my Z

Tri-Z Pilot
12-19-2003, 12:26 AM
Mine has like 5 minutes on it, LOL! I found out that my water pump and main bearing seals were leaking, so as soon as the snow melts, I am going to put my main seal in, (water pump already rebuilt).

TRI-Zbrian
12-19-2003, 12:42 AM
yeah mine was slowly leaking water and i had to keep adding to it and found out it was my water pump seal so i am going to rebuild my whole water pump for the heck of it thats why mine is apart also

That Z could catch a good 700-900 I'd say. Certainly higher if you were to eBay it.

I posted a very clean 86 Tri Z that I was considering buying that ended up selling for $1075.If anyone remembers the past the bike was about 93% mint. (see link below)

This thing I would give no more than $500 tops!!

Don't over pay man....a Z in bad shape can cause you a world of hurt. Don't ever get excited about any painted parts or plastic...my motto is that unless its factory, new, or gold plated I don't give a rats arse about some krylon screw job. I would deduct from the price for that plastic because it looks sloppy and leads me to wonder about what else could be 'sloppy'.
