Who's done LED Headlights?

As LEDs get better and better, I've wondered about doing LED headlights on one of my trikes. Now that I have a new '85 Tecate that happens to have no headlight, I got thinking about it again. Headlights for this thing seem as rare as hen's teeth, so I started poking around for alternatives. I've found a couple threads talking about this kind of thing, but I didn't get a strong impression whether people thought it was practical or useable. LEDs traditionally have poor "throw", and are better for flooding an area, but they're getting better.

I found this one at DX.com that seemed like it might be good. I especially like the "warm white" idea, because I don't care much for the cold light that LEDs usually throw. What do you guys think? Worth a try, or waste of time?

That led headlight in the link would probably work, I put a off road jeep led headlight ony 225dx and it took some fabrication to get it on but it worked great, super bright, and looked really good, if you give a minute I can try to find a link for you, if you want to see it

I put these lazer star 2 row led on my tri z, love them, i put two spot lights, going to change one out to a flood for a bit better visibility, way better than the stock halogens tgat crap within 10 mins.

No those halogens are very heavy duty you wouldn't believe how's my times I've rolled my trike and they are still perfect

Wow, those Lazer Star lights are expensive! Way out of my price range.

Did you have to modify the electrical system to run the LED type headlights?
Did you use the z headlight with a led bulb?

Not much modification with this set up, just made a mount and bolt on, run your power through the hi beam side of the switch and your ground of course, the will work with 9-32v ac or dc, draw nothing and built pretty good. They are pricey, but i just really got sick of popin bulbs all the time.

Oddly I have 4 of them 27W led fog lights (as they were sold on ebay). Planning to put 2 on 2 different big reds and a pair on my car since I drive in at midnight and deer move around a lot that time of night.

My dad barrowed a pair to test on his 2011 big red side by side, and he loved them so much he bought 10x 18W ones for other misc stuff lol.
