Here's the thread where I used my Big Red for trash pickup:

http://www.3wheelerworld.com/showthread.php/156626-86-Big-Red-at-work

BR has a few issues I need to take care of so I decided to take my '84 YTM 200EL out for trash pickup. I started at the bridge where I left off with BR a few weeks ago. I only made it about 3/4 of a mile before my tote was full :p

The Yamahauler isn't looking too pretty at the moment; I have the fender and headlight shroud off to work on some wiring issues. I just recently put the cleaned up carb back on, and freshly cleaned airbox with a new filter, new petcock, and a new spark plug. It started in 1 pull. Runs really nice. I hope to get the lights working this week. I probably live in the best area in southeastern MN for riding 3 wheelers. It's just awesome around here. Looks better now, too with most of the trash picked up

In this picture you can see where the bridge is out; the earth eroded away with the spring thaw and the bridge fell. You can see the bridge on the other side; a huge JD tractor pulled it out a few weeks ago. No word on if they're going to put it back across...

What I don't understand is on opening day of trout fishing, the fishermen themselves were the ones throwing the most garbage out in the woods and along the road. Coffee cups, bags, snack packages, beer bottles, pop bottles, etc. Jeez you'd think they would be the ones to NOT litter. I saw it all first hand because I was down there; and there was tons of new trash where they parked and fished. No matter, I'll get the rest of it later this week :)

I enjoy cleaning up :) I treated myself afterwards with a 1 hour ride on my 185s thru the woods. Ah, the smell of the new growth, the crickets chirping, last years leaves flying up behind me as I cruised along....

Is that an inner tube seat cover on the Yamaha? If so.... LUV IT ! ! ! :beer

Thanks for keeping your part of the state clean. I know what you say about litter and the weekend warriors. Last year, I hopped on my GS 850 to return a beer bottle that was thrown into my yard, by a group on a hay ride. I watched them do it and everyone on the hay wagon, denied that "they" were responsible for it. I waited: they were even dumb enough to offer me a beer and it just so happened to be the same EXACT bottled beer, that I brought back to them. Go figure...

It IS an innertube  It doesn't cover the entire seat, but the middle 80% or so. My neighbor's kids owned this machine from 1988 until I bought it last fall (they had left it for dead in a barn for 10 years!) He said the seat had ripped and he tubed it to patch it up  Funny thing is he did a really good job, I'm not even going to mess with it.

The machine would've sat forever and died if I wouldn't have discovered it. I paid $50. A good tank cleaning, carb cleaning, new petcock, oil change and plug, the darn thing runs just sweet. It's a nice solid machine....

Wow, what a great service you're doing, hats off to ya. There are too few folks like you around.
I'm curious about the "EL", does that mean it's got electric start?

Not sure what it stands for. It's just the next letters in line that Yamaha used as far as I know. I believe there was the "EK" the year before. Any knowledgeable Yamaha guys want to answer this?
