NEED HELP!!!!! 86 tecate 250 T3 ELECTRICAL ISSUE

I would lie to find out if I installed a 1987 tecate 250 t4 total ignition in a 1986 tecate 250 t3 are they the same cause I have a t4?If anyone can help me please do.trailpro

The are not the same,however I have never tried to swap them so I can't say whether it would work or not. Give it a shot!! If everything mounts up the only problem I can see would be getting the timing set correctly.

I decided to buy all the correct ignition for it!I really think its the best way to go.I am gona sell the pvl setup..I have decided to restore it so I can get the most out of it!!Thank you for your help.

Is it totally missing, you can test the ign and stator coils. rickystator.com has the stator coils $39.00 a pair and flywheel $139.00. Good luck on the CDI.

It has been done. I can't say how well or if it worked though. When I picked up my 86 T3 it had a T4 stator and CDI on it. If I remember right the T4 is a 2 wire plug (no blue wire). The T3 is a 3 wire plug
