So I'm tearing down my first gen tecates to start rebuilding and powder coating and parting them out.
So are the triple trees supposed to be through bolts or threaded cuz so far with 2 of my tecates I have a little of both going on so far.
Let me know. Thanks.

They are thru bolts only. There may be a number on the bottom side of the threaded ones, what is it?

Hello
86-87 are threaded but much larger diameter than the 84-85 to accommodate the larger 86-87 fork tubes.

I had my 85 apart last weekend - all through bolts for the fork clamp spots. None threaded into the clamps.

After reading this I went out and checked. I was wrong - both my 85s are as described - through bolts on the top clamps and threaded into the clamp on the bottom clamps.

Hello
84 is threaded on the bottom also same as jb2wheels 85's. Sorry my original answer was incomplete. The number is occasionally a p/n you can determine the year and model from, other times it may just have 3 or 4 numbers and/or letters one can compare with a known part, etc.
