I have a 1984 200ES Big Red that gets no spark. I believe it lies between the coil and the CDI Box. If I'm using the ohm meter right, the coil is probably good and the CDI is bad. Has anybody had a similar experience with this model and any suggestions appreciated. Also, the spark advancer does check out good. :?:

Your right. Almost always. I have had 10-20 84 200es's come through the shop over the years. For some unknown reason the 84's were hard on CDI boxes. I have replaced 2 of them out of 10 or so. There isn't a easy check on the CDI's either.

Like they havew both said it is almost always the stator. I have one and a guy i know has one and the stator would always get moister and he would heat it up and got all the moister out and it would run fine for a while afterwords. It was a real pain in the winter thought. But other than that they are an awesome trike. Do much riding with it MTRDUD. They don't like to turn good in the snow or ice thought but if ya lean just right they will.
