86 ATC250R Fork Upgrade - PVC

I'm trying to add more preload to the forks on my 250R and recall guys putting in PVC spacers. I tried searching but can't find exactly what size tubing people were using?

Is it 1 inch PVC? Also, are 2 inch spacers about what people are using? Just checking so I don't have coils binding. Thanks guys.
