Best mud tire??

I have had good luck with Super Swampers. They work great in mud and snow, but they will through you around on a hard packed trail.

I was lookin at Gator tires and wondered if the added weight of the tire would hurt my trike since it is shaft drive and all????

What kind of bike are you putting them on? I have a set of 22inch tall, 12inch wide ITP SpiderTraks that are really aggressive looking but I haven't gotten to try them yet. If I hadn't gotten these I would have bought the ITP Mudlite.

he has a 226dx or dr .. I dont really know a good tire for mud and stuff like that, the ones I have had blew.

My dad has some Super swamper's on his Fourtrax, and it is just AWESOME. Now, we can stop in the middle of a mud run, and continue and it's just fine! Before he had them, we could not stop because we would stay stuck there!! So the super swamper's are a good choice. :-D

I used the Super Swampers on my brothers old 225dx and the trike had no problem moving them. They are a stiffer tire and because the lugs are big and spaced far apart they clean themselves out well but also can be felt when riding on hard ground. I used to use the Swampers in the winter and spring then change to a pair of knobbies I already had for the summer and fall.

I don't see Super Swampers in 22x11x8 only 22x12.5x8, and correct me if I'm wrong but with a shaft drive 225dx the tire size must stay stock so you don't blow the rear.

I run Spider Tracs on my 350X. They are 22 inches tall and I believe 12.5 inches wide. They have a tractor type center tread and a couple of rows of square knobbies on the outer edges. The profile of the tire is pretty flat so you get a pretty good contact patch. If you're into pitching your trike sideways on hardpack and doing power slides then you might go in a different direction. It takes some decent power to get them to spin in a slide. Sometimes they might hook up unexpectedly during the slide also. They are an excellent mud tire. I've never gotten a flat with them and have never let me down. The 350X will spit out some decent sized mud chunks in second and third gears. So watch out whoever is behind me hahah. Just my 2 cents.

I ran the 22x12.5x8 is on the 225dx and had no problems, after all they are only 1.5 inches wider but I am not an agressive driver. I wouldn't go any taller then 22's though with them because they are heavier then most other tires.

I have a set of Kenda Rampage tires on my 250es Big Red. They are great in the snow and mud. I have 25x12x9 on it and the shaft handles them fine. Of course the 250es is heavier than the YTM 225.
