How do I change the oil in the sub transmission? what oil do I use?

If I'm correct,no service needed,the oil pump from the motor push oil in the subtrans

is there an adjustment on there? it sifts hard.

No adjustments on it. You might need to take it apart clean and re-assemble it. I would spray some lube around the arm and let it sit overnight to see if it helps. Then if it don't then take it apart and clean.

Mine likes me to put it in 1st as I'm sliding the lever into low or reverse then it gently syncs right in.
The shift fork drum may be gummed up...
Make sure you order a new gasket if you're going to pull it apart. And have a diagram handy for putting it back together because some parts may fall and you'll need to know where they go.

My 200ES does the same thing, won't always shift in neutral, but put it in first gear and the sub trans shifts just fine.
