Used all balls for the bearings... loved everything but the dust cap seals for the swingarm suck!.. ended up using oem .. and there install tool sucks...ended up using one that the late Ronnie made. haven't decided on plastic yet ... guess ill have to soon.
Lot's of pic's to come!:D

Bryan Raffa
04-04-2013, 10:25 PM
Not too enthused with all balls tripple kit... as everyone knows the top race sticks out .. which leaves 2 threds sticking out ,(all together), opted to throw out the dust seal for another set of threds ... I fliped the jam nut so the taper was up to get max thred depth. sucks balls!!!:mad:

04-05-2013, 06:05 AM
Love that color. What color plastics are going on it?
Bryan Raffa
04-05-2013, 07:24 AM
it's powder.. silver vein ,, with candy clear over the top..... still Haven't decided black or white for main plastic... think im gonna wait till its a roller to see what I like.. thought it would go together quicker,,, but as i pull all the parts out .. they have to be cleaned up ,from when I took it apart over a year ago..

Plastic is a hard choice, I say you wait until its a roller

You guys are no help LOL one white .. one black hahah

04-05-2013, 01:28 PM
think you need to get it outside in the sun and see what it looks like before picking colours
volfan537240
04-05-2013, 02:05 PM
Or get custom color plastics, neither white nor black....
ATC-Eric
04-05-2013, 04:48 PM
White all the way.

polished rim's ... with a new Hi-flite seat cover. ether black fade to red.. or white fade to red....:wondering
Raffa that looks great! The color reminds me of an old muscle car. I can picture black plastics with polished rims! It will look great no matter which way you go. Great work.

white fenders would make the colors pop and polished wheels
volfan537240
04-05-2013, 10:59 PM
I prefer black wheels but I think it'll look good with polished wheels too. White plastics + black wheels would be awesome though IMO.
oeduardo67
04-05-2013, 11:42 PM
If you're going polished wheels I think black plastics with the black fading to red would look sick. Or white with red letter stickers. Either way its gonna look nice. :wondering

You guys are no help LOL one white .. one black hahah
Either would look great, but white would bring attention to the hardware a lot more so than black would. Also to keep in mind the inevitable scratches you pick up on the trails will make the black look old sooner than white would. Do it right, do it white!

I agree with camexian. If it was going to be a duner or garage queen black would be cool, but white hides it all. I vote white, w/ red and white seat. Love it

Nice! Which bend are those handlebars?
Keith Salyer
04-07-2013, 09:42 PM
White plastics with custom cut candy red and silver accented graphics. Maybe same letterstyle as factory with the custom colors. Whatever you do it's going to be cool.

what did you grind? if you grind the Race the bearing still sticks out of it....:wondering the only way I see it to work is machine that top race step down more..Or machine the top tripple out...and i wouldn't do that..

I have known about it for some time ..I just dont install the seals.. it would be nice if the seal was in the dust cap like the swingarm caps. not takeing up more thickness. oh well cant have everything i guess..lol I just dont see it working with the seals... you have to make that decision before you press that bottom bearing on the tripple .. anyone who uses the seals are running around with about 3 threds on the top tripple nut!
ktmcrasher
04-20-2013, 10:37 AM
I took the meat off the bottom of the race till the bearings were just showing through and then skimmed a bit off the top of the bearing
Trimmed the holes in the headlight mount, mighta helpd that mine was bent a bit, have the dust seal under the bottom bearing, and plenty of thred left up top..i think..ill look again

Ya. Same here. I just wound up zip tying mine to the frame. Whats the best way to cut the frame after its already been powdercoated? I dont want to chip my coating.
Also. I have 2 works shocks. One of mine has bushings like yours ktmcrasher. And the other has the ones like Raffas. I would like to get a new set. I didnt know where to get them. But I guess I should just call works!! =)
