350X Pivot Reinforcement - what washers?

For those of you that reinforce the 350X swingarm pivot bolt holes in the frame, what size washers are you using?

Hole in the frame is close to 14.1mm.
14mm washer is actually closer to 15mm hole - too big to help?
12mm washer is about 13mm - too small to use
1/2" washer is 14.5mm - too big to matter?

And I don't have a 14.1mm bit/reamer and, even if I did, I'd probably screw up the original hole in process.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Clue?

I used heavy duty 1/2" washers and reamed them. If you had the patience you could use a round file; Carefully.

I'd blue ink the OEM hole so you don't angle the shave. They have hand reamers (might be called "chucking reamers") that you can toss in a 1/2" drill.

McMaster has those for a decent cost.....

Please explain exactly what you are trying to do.

What exactly is the problem?

Are you trying to "sleeve" a worn hole in the frame?

If so I have an idea also, I have "sleeved" and reinforced holes in many things, many times.

If you just need a washer that is close see below.

14 mm = .55118

14.1 mm hole = .35814”

Your hole is 14.1 mm = 55511

A true SAE ½ washer is I 3/16 od x .5938” id= id is too large

A true USS ½” washer is 1 3/8 od x 5625” id x 7/64 thick just .0074” larger id than your 14.1 mm hole but a larger od than an SAE washer.

The USS and true SAE washers are available at a true industrial supply hardware store and are available hardened. They should also have “machine” shims or washers with similar id’s that are hardened. Most hardware store SAE washers are NOT true SAE dimensions.


MM divided by 25.4 = inches measured in thousands.

Grade 8 with the proper dia. worked for me.
