Hi guys I've got a atc 200m that the lights didn't work on when I pulled the stator out I found a washer stuck to the flywheel. When I looked at the coil I noticed damage to the windings. My question is would this cause the no lights issue? Also that black coil is that what gives the spark plug power? Bike runs fine just no lights.

do you have a tester? have you checked to see if you have any voltage going to the lights, switch etc?

I don't have a tester but I know there isn't any voltage and my bulbs are not burnt out and the wiring harness is good. It was only when I swaped the motor out for the one that's in it now that I lost lights unfortunately I no longer have the old motor and stator.

The black coil is the stator the other 3 copper colored coils are for the lights .

Buy yourself a multi-meter while you're at it. Everyone should have one in their toolbox. Takes out the guesswork....

H Freight, on sale for about 3 bucks and they take 'em back no question when they quit working.
Digital is ok, but I kinda like the needle analog kind for jumpy voltages.

I think that if you need a meter to diagnose that coil, owning one won't help you much.

I agree  I think the big dent in the coil tells the story !!!!
