Okay, Since I’ve been a member for 3 months and that I can now post in this topic, I’ll start my Slow build. Don’t expect updates every day haha. I have a busy schedule With school, the GF, Ect. But, Here we go I guess haha.

Heres Some History on the ’82:

My father and I has had this ’82 185S For years now that he bought from my uncle 15 years or so ago for $350 Bucks and were slowly working on it. Keep in mind that this will be a pretty slow build Thread. Ill try to keep you guys posted with both Pictures and Videos.

Heres the Link to My Set on Flikr for this thing, I’ll Be uploading pics to this when I work on it, So keep checking in on it!

The stuff I’ve done to it so far is:

- 1 New Rear Tire
- New Valve Stem on new rear tire ( PITA by yourself, BTW)
- Re-Painted One Rear Rim Silver
- New Air Filter ( Old one Crumbled in my hand, it was the original from 1982)
- Built Custom Rear rack years ago
- Multiple Fixes to the Leaky Gas Tank. ( JB Weld didn’t hold, JB Wet Weld didn’t hold, I finally got some special Gas Tank repair putty from Fleet Farm and just got that all painted and installed on 12/3/12 )

Stuff To Do:

- Fix Bent Axle ( Not sure how that happened *Scratches Head* )
- New rear Wheel Bearings
- Change Oil
- Re-Build Motor And Trans? (W/ Racing Parts???)
- Strip/Clean/Re-Paint frame
- New paint on Gas Tank, And new Decals
- New Seat
- New front Fender ( old one is cracked )
- Get new Rear fender, Missing a chunk on one side.
- Re-Chrome parts.
- Front shocks? Someday.
- Re-Build Carb.
- New Wiring for Headlight and Tail Light.

A few weeks ago when I had my Hour off during school I jumped on a computer in the lounge and looked up some prices for some parts.

These are the Items Cosmetically So Far:
• Gas Tank Decals, 4 Pc, EBay, $27.99
• NOS Gas Cap, EBay, $69.99 ( Prob. Have the old one Re-Chromed for less)
• Used Front Fender, EBay, $20.00
• Rear Fender Side Decals ( By Legs) EBay, $9.99
• Sand Paper, Primer, Paint, Clear, Ect, O’Reily’s, $50.00 Or So.
• Chrome Headlight Bezel Ring, EBay, $30.00
• New Wood and Stain for Rear Rack, Home Depot, $???
• That’s all I can think of so far, Will end up adding more!

And Now For the Mechanical/Other Stuff:

• OEM Front And Rear Brake Pads, EBay, $24.95
• OEM Crank Bearings, EBay, $25.95
• OEM Piston Ring Set, EBay, $25.99

Now To the Performance Upgrades (If I go that far on the build, that is.)
• High Perf. Cam Chain, EBay, $17.95
• “ “ Clutch Spring Set, EBay, $16.61
• “ “ Clutch Plates, EBay, $38.42
• Perf. Exhaust System, EBay, $161.61

Quite a bit when its all written out and priced, But, Also Note that if I DO do all of these things it will take me quite awhile to complete, got a busy schedule at the moment, along with being in college and only having a summer job, and most of the stuff I want to do right away I have to wait until it warms up a little, since we still got a few feet of snow and temps in the teens right now.

I Know for a FACT that I’m getting a new front tire and a new rear tire on the back since I got one new one on the rear already and because the front tire is slowly leaking air, And since I have the front brake assembly apart I might put new pads up front while I’m up there, And I’ll Re-Paint The last 2 Rims silver like the one on the rear.

Why no Performance Cam? or piston? Both will net more power than a pipe.

I'll have to look into that, Thanks!!

If spring would ever come id like to get started on the Wheeler!!!! may go out in a bit and do some de-greasing on the motor and trans and such.

little bit of an update here in the beginning.

Well i haven't updated in awhile, but now that i work 12 hour night shifts a bit, i have more money to spend on the wheeler. Latest news about it has been that the recoil wont go in all the way so that just got fixed since i didn't wanna attempt it myself. that's gotta go back on it soon, then ill be able to ride it again, haven't rode it in ages. also been busy with a Hot Rod inspired lawn mower project lol.
