if its sheared i doubt it would run because it would throw the motor out of time. could also mess up other things.

it would sound like its trying to start.. but never would. It would also spit and backfire. Its not hard to check that.. just take the 5 or 6 bolts off and look. Check and make sure your still in time, and that will tell you right away.

could this also cause a weak spark? the engine wont ki9ck start everynow and then it seems to wanna kinda start but it doesnt and when i go to push start it itll back fire orn she putter for a second then shut off? i clean the carbs, new plugs, im thinking the engine could be off timing..

I sheered a key once out on the trails on my 86 KXT. It just died. The reason the key sheered was because my flywheel bolt backed out. I was lucky, it didn't hurt anything but the key.

Its much faster to check it than to make the post and listen to everyones theories!

lol Sometimes I wonder why people post some of the things they do. It takes 3 minutes to undo the bolts and look, and about 3 hours to fire up the computer, make a post, then wait for a reply. :D
