How to identify Z swing arm year?

Hello, I need a swing arm for an 85 Z, a guy has one for sale but is not sure of year. I think that I have read that there is a difference but cant remember where or what the difference is.
How can the year be identified? I still have original but cant easilly compare due to distance.
Any help appreciated.

sorry i dont have a side by side im away from home at the mo. notice the extra metal running from the rear linkage mount towards the swing arm pivot on the 86

if you still have your 85 z swing arm compare it to the first picture and you will easily see the difference
