Got a call this Friday that someone had a few bikes for sale. Drove 6 hrs to San Diego and get to his house and guess what a 1986 Kawasaki Tecate was front and center and for sale. Gas tank was good, shrouds, headlight, coolant tank, motor, mostly everything was there and yes I bought it. And it was cheap.164890

From what I know, cheap trikes on the west coast are ALOT cheaper than cheap trikes here in the NE!!

Yes a few. But from the front of the seat towards the front bike is nice. But from the front of the seat to the back. Bike is crap.

Tell me about it. I posted my trike for ridiculous amounts of cash mostly cuz my wife won't let me add anymore ponies to the stable till i try selling some. Sad thing is people still text me about the trike but nobody came through to look at it yet. But if someone wants to pay me a grand for it then by all means take it. HAAA

Man that hurt seeing that....lol... They are always a smokin deal on the left coast. I am on the hunt for a decent priced 86 Tecate.... Wanna sell it????

No not yet I currently have 3 1986 Tecate's. And going to take parts from all 3 and make a nice one from all the donors.

great find nice to see another kawi guy here. i did all the development testing on tgose when i worked at kawi so i'm kinda of fond of them. raced one too and beat a few hondas on occasion.

i can give you a link to some nos parts if you want. they are not mine.

What pipe is on it? Hopefully you got a Klemm cylinder along with that Klemm decal.

Do you know anything about Klemm? I as well as others here can tell you if you are interested. Short story, he tried to carry his tool bag on the plane years ago and they told him he couldn't take it. Took us 20 minutes to convince them he wasn't going to disassemble the plane during the flight. He also tried to blow up our rental car too, lol.

What year t4? kawi actually told me to build one using as many t3 parts as possible once they knew the ban was coming. That was a fun project.
