You'll find your trike slides easier. and is more stable at speed. you may notice a little more difficulty in tight trails or woods riding.

The main benefit is added stability.

so you wouldnt recomend it for trail riding rite?

Would depend on the trike I guess. You'd have to get used to what you could and couldn't make it through. But once you did I think you'd appreciate the added width. In my opinion.

i would personly thing a +6 would be too wide for trails, expecialy the trails that i go/went on.

I'd have to agree with Jeb. What kind of trike are you planning on getting one for? If you have a 200x dont use your money buying a +6 inch axle. Just tonight before I pulled the engine from my bros 200x I put a pair of 350x rims on it. Now it is almost as wide as my 350x, about 1 inch less of width. Soon to get even more width Im planning on getting some 86 200X or 300ex hubs to add 2 more inchs! For a total of about 7 inches of added width without expensive wheel spacers or searching for an extended axle.

what are the best mods to make my 200x best in the woods it is an 85 with no mods well just a k&n and cobra pipe. So what can i do to make it be the beast of the woods?

did the 350x rims bolt right up?

To make the 200x really good in the woods I would drop of one tooth on the countershaft bringing it down to an 11 tooth vs stock 200x's 12 tooth. This would help perty good to get more torque but you would loose a bit of top speed. Then I would get some 20 inch tires. 86 250r stock tires or 400ex stock tires on the 350x rims are great. I would then get your carb jetted and remove the air box lid to take advantage of the pipe and air filter (Dirtcrashers advice). Since you are using a K-N filter I would get an outerwears for it to block out extra dirt if your running it with the airbox lid off. This would make your 200x great fun in the woods. Maybe get a +2 inch swingarm to help keep the front end down on steep hills.

As for the 350x rims. They bolt right up to the 200x hubs but you may have to buy different bolts and nuts because the 350x rims are a bit different but nothing major. They are a bit hard to get on right but they do fit. If you need some more info let me know.

do you no where to get a +2 swinger and the outerwear for the k&n?

3WheelsForever

Outerwears are availible from www.rockymountainatv.com

The +2 inch swinger you would have to fab up your self or search for in the classifieds. I would try to talk with Howdy he may have one for you.

he said 20" tires to give you more low end. you'll want the torque in the woods, not top speed.

Twenty inch tires will give you more stability than say 22's. This is because of the lower profile, same rules as car tires. And if you do go with lower gearing then 20inch tires would almost be like gearing lower again, giving you a lot of bottom end while loosing some top speed. You lose ground clearance as well when you run smaller tires so you may get hung up on stuff you could once run rite over with taller 22's.

My opinion, get a skidplate and go with the 20's.

The 20" tires will help a lot. I liked Fast Trekkers because they slipped just enough to alllow the 200x to really perform. Might be a little different since I had a 86 200X. I put the same tires on my KFX 400 and I can ride on pavement like it is loose dirt.

Like loose dirt?! That sounds like a good bit of fun.

A twenty inch razr/shredder would be a good choice for an all round woods ride. You want to be able to get all your power to the ground without really breaking loose.

Well here are some pics of my brothers 200x with 350x rims on it. I have also included a picture of my 350x as it is right now. I am soon hoping to restore it as soon as I get a few more parts.

It would only let me post 3 pics so here is the latest pic of my 350X which needs cleaned up a bit.

Like everyone else said a +6 might be a bit much in the woods. For my 350 I have the rear end set in it's skinnest setting since most of our woods are tight. It's 44 inches wide right now with 10 inch wide tires. I aggree with 3wheelsforever on tire choice, I'm running 400ex/250r radial tires on stock 400ex rims on my 350 and like them a lot. Here's a pic with them installed.

why do you have your tires on backwards?

3WheelsForever
12-14-2003, 12:53 PM
If your talking to me I did that because we just got some snow and they seem to do much better turned around. Espescially with turning.

Get some 18" Turf Tamers or Holeshots. The make the bike much more stable in the woods and they look sweet.

18's might not be great due to the lack of ground clearance.

BigGreenMachine
12-14-2003, 10:28 PM
I have to agree, you sure don't see Bill Balance or William Yokley out racing 18's in the woods. I'd go with 20's at least and make sure your disk and chain/sproket are protected with some sort of skidplate. You can go faster knowing your drivetrain is protected from rocks and stumps if your not worrying about smacking your jewls. ;)

Yeah... If your riding through untrailed woods 18's would not be good. I saw "woods machine" and thought more of like riding trails through the woods. On the trails my 18's are fine.

Dude I told you they fit but you will have to get different lug nuts and longer bolts for your hubs. Unless you get a pair of 300ex or 86 200x hubs that allready have those type of lugnuts.
