because the lower number 2 means its better.

ahah.no... this is not true...2 strokes are not always faster then 4....take a tri-zinger, and race a 350x, who will win?...its just the size of the engine and what not....2 strokes are usually just more responsive and all that....

but if u take a stock 250r (2stroke) and ANY stock 250 4 stroke the 2 stroke will always win

2 strokes have a power stroke every 2 revolutions where as a 4 stroke, is once every four.

Err....don't you mean it fires every revolution? I thought a 2-stroke fired every time the piston came up.

you are correct when you say that it fires every time the piston comes up. however a stroke is either and up stroke or a down stroke of the piston. revolutions/cycles/strokes are all the same thing, sorry if i was miss leading. thats why its called 2 strokes and not one.

the animations on howstuffworks.com show it all.

i just read a little myself. my terminology was wrong. revolution or cycle includes both up and down. a stroke is either.
