how hard would it be to put a kx 250 motor into a 350X frame?
would it be worth doing ?
how hard is it to find tecate frames?
isnt the 350x frame heavyier than all the other frames ?
the reason im asking all these questions is because im trying to justify
this guy buying the roller i was going to buy to restore (350x)
I may still get it as he hasent picked it up yet they are just holding it for him

i think this is a great idea. the 350x is the most comfortable trike to ride in my opinion. it would be nice with a 2 stroke engine in it.
i dont know how hard this would be though. probably have to fabricate the mounting and also make sure the pipe and everything else clears.

damn sportvette you are not helping j/k
not my cause anyways :-D
yea im sure its a good idea I just dont wnat to see it being framkensteined into a hondasaki as I want the roller to restore to original
thanks sportvette your in put is valued even though its not what i want to hear but i fear you are right
Depending on the year of KX, 85-87 will bolt righ into a 86/87 KXT frame. Newer KX motor may bolt right up too, except the headstay on the later motors is on the front of the head and Tecate era motors on the back.

You'll have to mount radiators on the 350 some where.

Anything can work with a little time and money, it could work since the 350x is used to housing a towering 4 stroke engine, so it should be a lot easier to work with than some frames out there.

It will be a while before I get to the 350X restore although I partially started it I stopped when I heard that the cycle shop was going to sell roller to this other guy so I snatched up an 86 250SX for the wife that is the new project as soon as I make room in my shop the SX wont need as much cash to do all it neds is a complete front end,gas tank, seat and plastics, and of course paint where as the big X will need motor work (probably rebuild) full exhaust, complete seat w/pan,fork rebuild and rear shock rebuild, all plastics,I would like to get an extended axle and good carrier, also would like to have some steel braided brake lines, also thought about getting frame chromed so that will be a very expensive venture and probably take a year or two just to come up with the cash unless I sell my two TT 500s I get rid of the two big dirt bikes and the 350X restore is on
