just pulled the carb bowl off my newly purchased 2 stroke and see the carb bowl has some pitting...what causes this ? then dumped the gas out of the tank and got what looks like gray water and then some white drops of oil like liquid ????

Ohh it's been going on here in the Northeast way before ethanol. It's simply good ol chemistry at work. Rotten, nasty fuel, oil and water. Sometimes stabil,,dry gas. You never know what kind of concoction they had in there!

That bowl/carb is also made of(magnesium) pot metal and corrodes easily. I have had a few float bowl hinges almost corrode off.
Berrymans carb cleaner will eat your carb,if left too long in the basket!!!
