what should i use and how much ? its blue so i think it's an 85...:wondering

300 ml. or .32 qt. of 10w-40 or 10w-30. Theres a sticker on the frame behind the front fender that will say the year (if its still there). If you need any other references there's a complete manual here http://www.oscarmayer.net/atc/manuals/Yamaha/tri-zinger_yt60_servicemanual.pdf

It's not hypoid gear oil, and it's not grease either. It comes in a tube and is availiable at the Yamahe dealer and is called Grizzlly grease. It's has a consistency like jelly. It's used in the cvt of the yamaha grizzly atv's, and others. The axle assembly has to be removed and cleaned in a pressure type solvent tank with ring and pinion exposed. Then squeeze contents into housing. It's the correct lubricant for the tri-zinger.

tecate-z was referring to the grease for the rear axle housing

Ya I know now. We actually sorted that out in one of the OP's 7 other threads about Zingers.
