250R Experts, I need a little help

I have used the search feature and couldn't come up with a definitive answer to my question.

Can anyone tell me if an 86 250R toolbox will fit the 85?

I've never tried the swap before, but I don't see why not. If I remember correctly, the toolbox mounts to the rear grab bar, and the grab bars are identical, so the toolbox mount spacing is the same. You might need to use the 86's toolbox brackets to mount it though.

The 85 box used collars and two different length bolts to mount it. You can use the 86 tool box as long as you have the 86 brackets, hardware, and bolts.
