axle help needed

I need to remove my axle shaft (shaft drive no differntial) on a 200es big red. I'm not very familar with this so i'm sorry if this is a dumb question(s).

can i remove just the shaft w/o taking off the entire rearend? and how do i do this? if i have to take it all off will this be hard to put back together? should i have a shop do it? feedback greatly appreciated? :)

:) I am not a mechanic, but maybe I can give a little help. First, if you don't have a manual get one. Second. I replaced the swingarm bearings on my '84 Yamaha 225 DX and that gave me access to the drive shaft. Not much but maybe it will help.

ull have to take the diff out and it is an easy job getting it off...........getting it on is the trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro part. u need two people!!!!!! hope that helps
