I saw a zinger down the road from me, and was thinking of asking the owner if he would wish to sell it. What are your opinions on these things? Also, how much of an improvement would Boyesen reeds make? If I got reeds, would I have to also buy a Reed Valve?
Thanks

I have a 4-zinger and I think their a bad-ass machine for thier size.I'm not sure about the reeds,I guess they would make a difference? Also,Yamaha sells big bore kits up to .50.He said the piston in stock size,.25 size, and .50,and said it would cost only $23.

Those zingers are kick arse machines... They run forever. I have 2. One, I got a year ago. Only prob was a clogged exhaust. ($0) I knew the previous owner, he took care of it. Still looks great, and has lots of power. 20-25 mph.
The other I bought not running for a xmas, restoration for my kids. Took me 1 day to make it run. Key fell out from the main drive gear.
If you take care of these things, they will last a lifetime.
They are a blast for the kids, but they still haul my 200# trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro around. lol
Dont know about the reeds though.

They probably dont make an aftermarket reed valve, so reeds are probably your only option, hey chad, where is greensburg located, I live 20 miles away from penn state university.

The buy it now is at $39.99. That is pretty cheap for all of the electric...
Or snipe him out at the end.
If you know exactly what you need. A yami dealer can order it for you. (it'll be alot more than $40)

Nope don't know what I need,I got a brand new coil, cap and spark plug to.Yeah yamaha prices are insane  ,Thats why I'm looking for them on here lol.I need the stator too... :(
I have a Zinger. They are great. I bought it when I was around 16, I'm now 31. I've had to bore it 1 time. I'm told you can go twice. I made some reeds out of some Banshee reeds by tracing, cutting, and sanding. I think it feels a little more snappier. DG makes pipes for them. I bought one, it was kind of a little to loud and didn't seem to make a difference so I took it off and drilled a hole in where the tail pipe comes out and put the tail pipe back on. It sounds pretty good that way and kind of freed things up a little.

Where can I get a DG pipe from? And do you use the stock headpipe? How much do they cost?I would like to see a pipe with an expansion chamber on it  .I think there should be more aftermarket parts.I would like to see a zinger run circles around a 125m or a tri-moto :D .
