here's what i know about it.
THE GOOD::naughty:

THE BAD:
needs complete decal set (cannot find rear fender decal for '85)

That looks like a great deal to me, very clean not beat up for 600 bucks - can't go wrong with that 200X :)

correct me if im wrong, BUT arent the NOS parts on the bike worth that alone?
Also does Harlan make the rear fender decal for the '85? or just the '83&4?

Nope, maybe 150, but that would be stretching it.

$150 for what? the NOS parts?
reason im asking an NOS seat for an 86X that Mike from VMS sold (or has for sale) was listed at $599 (granted the 2nd gen is rarer)
NOS front fender for any ATC ive seen in the past was AT-LEAST $200
have the prices really been hit THAT hard by the economy?
The front fender is a 85-86 250r front.

The front fender is a 85-86 250R front.
you know your right i didn't even notice that until you mentioned it! so whats an NOS R fender worth? he said he still has the packages for all of the parts on it that are/were NOS when installed.

i would pay 600 all day for it

I paid 200 for mine, but that was about a year and a half ago when they were still floating around regularly. I bet the seat would fetch 300-400 if it truly nos and not a recover.

the guy told me (and he seems trustworthy) that the seat assembly, front fender, headlight basket and fork boots all came out of Honda packaging purchased from the internet and through the dealer.
the rear fender was like it is when purchased he doesn't know if its OEM or Maier. IMHO it looks OEM but im not sure either way, can anyone tell for sure? The seat to me looks new and not a recover or anything..although it could be an OEM cover or a recover done by Tammy or Rob their work is as good as OR better then OEM!
But all that Aside it will be a nice bike i think with a new set of decals and some TLC! It Deffinately looks pretty low hour/low use compared to a-lot of bikes I've seen, ESPECIALLY around here!

I would seriously take those NOS parts off immediately. Don't risk ruining them. Sell them and but good rider parts.
I will make back over what u paid and be able to buy regular replacements.

I'm not sure if you all realize what NOS stands for, but it means "New Old Stock". NOS is what you would call brand-new parts that are obsolete, or discontinued. I think the term you're looking for is "OEM", or "Original Manufacturer's Equipment".

Ok, so typically I don't defend myself but here goes. You wanted my opinion....
Hondaline headlight guard (closest one I could find, $75.00): http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hondaline-Accessory-Headlight-Guard-83-84-85-86-Honda-ATC200X-ATC-200-NOS-/390521951241?pt=Motors_ATV_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5aecec1409&vxp=mtr
Hondaline MC guard ($12:00): http://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-EMGO-FRONT-MASTER-CYLINDER-BRAKE-RESERVIOR-GUARD-XR500R-XL600R-ATC-200X-250-/230893310510?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item35c250522e&vxp=mtr
NOS SEAT (86-87, but you get the idea...BIN $599.00): http://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-Honda-ATC-200x-seat-86-87-NEW-OEM-ATC200X-in-box-200-perfect-rare-3-wheeler-/121060256240?pt=Motors_ATV_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1c2fc0e9f0&vxp=mtr
NOS '85/'86 250R Front fender (Couldn't find that one so had to use a comparable 185 NOS instead: 374.99). http://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-Honda-ATC200-ATC-200-S-ATC185-ATC-185-S-Genuine-Honda-Correct-Front-Fender-/390519865942?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5aeccc4256&vxp=mtr
NOS Headlight bucket (Couldn't find 200x, but here's a 250R for comparison: $301.00) http://www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-ATC-250R-1986-NOS-OEM-New-Headlight-shell-garnish-HondaLine-/150989159545?pt=Motors_ATV_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2327a7bc79&vxp=mtr
NOS Fork Boots (Couldn't find 200x, but here's 250R for comparison: 79.95). http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-VINTAGE-NOS-FORK-BOOTS-GENUINE-HONDA-ATC250R-ATC-250R-1985-1986-ATC250-250-R-/321050410151?pt=Motors_ATV_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4ac0187ca7&vxp=mtr
So let's go ahead and total up those comparison parts: $1,441.94
And for S&G's let's say the bike was worth 5-600 with good non-NOS parts: $600.00
He should be selling that bike in the neighborhood of $1,700-$2,000, which realistically he would never get, so let's say he eats the NOS parts and tries to sell it for $1,500.
I would say either you are getting the deal of the century on this 200x or this guy is FOS....I am going to go with the latter.
Again, just my opinion.

thanks for your opinion too..as soon as the IRS would give me my money we would all know a little bit more about this machine!im hoping it has all the new parts that he says it does, It would be awesome! buy a set of black Maier fenders and a used seat for riding it and keep the nice plastics and seat for when im not riding it. maybe just maybe ill get lucky? But i doubt it..i never get lucky.

Regardless of what parts are on it, I do think it is a very clean looking X and 600 delivered is a good deal considering the condition. Have fun!

For $600 if it runs good, all the parts work as they should and looks as good in person I'd buy it and ride it.
