Has anyody had any experiance with these kits? http://www.ebay.com/itm/YAMAHA-TRI-Z250-TRI-Z-250-STAINLESS-ATV-BOLT-KIT-/310335867343?pt=Motors_ATV_Parts_Accessories&hash=item48417589cf&vxp=mtr. I was wanting to pick one up but wanted to make sure it is actually a Tri Z kit and not just some random bolts that look/work closely. Just wondering if anybody on here has any experience with these kits? They offer polishing to mirror finish also, anyone running those? Do they look as good as described?

I bought a set from eBay, it's still in the original packaging. I'm waiting to get back home to put it back together. It looks like they've packaged it up nice and neat with individual bags labeled for the entire trike. I did read a paper with the package saying the stainless bolts require different torque specs for some reason,,,

They look a lot better than my old thrashed ones I removed! I'm sure several others have used the same or similar bolt kits in the past. I'd like to hear some feedback myself.

The only thing i would be concerned with is how much softer stainless bolts are, they also gall up easily. I hate stainless, more pain then they are worth i always end up snapping them off.

I prefer OEM hardware and have never used stainless kits. I have heard Loctite is a Must on stainless hardware.

I would buy these kits before the stainless ones.

I've done considerable research on this (i'm a freak that way) and have talked to numerous people that have done this and the general response is to go with a seller by the name of "fastenerguy". His kits include every conceivable bolt you could need, usually more than necessary, high quality stuff, packed and labeled to specific location/use and very competitivly priced. He also covers a ridiculous variety of machines. I have personally seen a minimum of 3 of his kits in use and they are flawless.

With all that being said...OEM replacements only for suspension related bolts. Most SS bolts can/will/do bend or break under the stress.

"fastenerguy" is who mine came from. I think the only fasteners not included were the swinger bolt and the foot pegs.....everything else I think is there.....I will know when I re-assemble.

Yes, I have used fastnerguy's kits and have not had any real problems with them. I have had 3 -4 bolts out of hundreds, have some messed up/less then perfect threads out of the box but that is a minimal number for the amount I have used. Be sure your threaded holes are clean and tapped well and use either cheap rtv silicone on the threads or silicone paste/grease to keep them from siezing or galling the threads. DO NOT use the SS bolts for your suspension components. They do bend. I do agree factory bolts are better in most cases if you can afford them.

I just checked my eBay feedback and my SS Bolts were bought from Alloybotlz (17243) 99.9% feedback.

I can't find my SS Swinger bolt feedback, I just got one of them too. Ill be home soon to put it all back together, starting with the engine! I'm sure the SS bolts will look good, do they really snap off that easily... I always thought SS was pretty durable?

My entire 200x flat track project was put together with fastenerguy's stainless/polished kit for the first gen 200x. Overall I was pleased. 98% of the bolts were there. Unfortunately I couldn't use some of them because of all the aftermarket parts I was using. The bolts are good quality and yes you need to use loctite on the swinger bolts and the wheel nuts. Overall I would give the kit an A-

I bought a kit and some of the bolts had the wrong thread pitch like the base nuts. A few were just wrong too. The lower motor mount was too short. And a few others just didnt work.

Was interested in a kit from fastenerguy too, noticed no activity on his eBay store so I messaged him. This is what I got:

"Hello, yes I am still in business i just sell direct to my customers now instead of selling on ebay. I can sell them cheaper since i don't have to pay ebay fees. If you are interested i can send you an invoice through Paypal, I will just need your Paypal id to do so."

Might wanna look him up on eBay if you're still interested.

Handy little feature in the upper right hand corner on the forums. ;)

OK I messeged him through ebay and looks as if MRSOUND is correct. he changed his ebay store name to match his company name. he goes by Motorsports Fasteners now and is an easy find on ebay. Thought I would let everybody know he is still on there and responded very fast. I just ordered a set so hoping they turn out great.

Just curious, what is that round cylinder thing to the left of your thermo delete? I've seen the same mystery part on Mosh's Tribute Build or in a pic of parts anyways.

Nice load of bling you've got there!!

I used alloybolts after a couple of months I had to pull the engine out for a rebuild I had to end up grinding a couple of bolts off just for the fact that I could not get them dam things off. on one bolt I tried so hard that I crossed threaded the nut and it just kept spinning lol.

That's the bling bottle. Boost bottle. Still run them for Smoke and mirrors as Mosh says.

sounds like you didn't use silicone or anti seize to prevent that.

Are these Flange bolts? Or Allen bolts? Not interested in Allen bolts. I've always just polished up my bolts. Use 600 grade VERY lightly. Then 3000 grade paper for a few swipes. Then use buffing polish by hand.

The end result is bright shiny bolts. You don't want to take off the plating...just restore it. If you go too deep you'll have bolts that will rust. Not what you want.166548166549

Stainless bolts can be a nightmare if they are over tightened especially into a stainless nut. They feel ok tightening them but the threads stretch and bind, then you need to get the fun tools out to sort it

I'm waiting on a stainless engine bolt kit on eBay from seller stainlesscycle
