I have an ad up on CL for a "parts" 350x machine and I got an email for this one for $750, Runs but smokes. I currently have one that is really rigged up, welded up, and needs basically everything, and I have a good spare engine I planned to install in it, but it would work well in that one too :D.

FYI - The owner says the paddle tires go with it, interesting thing is, the photos are most likely old so hopefully it is in pretty nice shape yet.

Comments?

I don't "need" this machine, but it appears pretty nice at the surface, my other one is pretty ugly lol.

It would be a good deal around here.... Don't see them for anything lower than 2000

750 for a 350x would be smoking good deal lol , but 750 for smoking 350x is semi questionable. coming with paddles makes it worth while, i would grab it

I'm thinking about trying to talk the guy down a bit, maybe 650. The tires and fenders make up most of the value of the machine even if the engine was toast, and either way my other one could use the plastics if it came down to it. BTW my other one cost me $260 as "non-running", ugly and needs everything (bearings, brakes, engine is cobbled, exhaust welded up, including to the head studs... etc).

If you got the $750, buy it, that thing is worth it all day long.

A year ago I'd have let it be, there will be others..

Got 4 - 350x in lower michigan ranging from $800-1200..

Those deals are scarce, now I'd say grab that up if it not a basket case..

$1000 350x deals seem to be history.

Think of it this way, would putting $750 into the one you have now make it comparably to that one. I can say that I would jump all over that one for $750. You could buy that one make one trike out of two and either sell the rest for parts to recoup some money or keep the rest in case you ever need any parts. I just sold my 85 two weeks ago for $2500.00 cdn The guy who bought it said he would have gladly paid more. 162000162001

Around here 750 for a smoking 350x would prob be a fair price. Paid 700 for mine fresh motor but was not pretty

Haha, thanks for the replies guys. I'm going to look at it in the morning, a big 15 mins out of my way :D.

I see so few sold in my area, it looked like a nice clean running machine valued around $1500, but then again... my search rules cuts off anything over 1500 :).

Hopefully it looks as good as in the photos, and everything is tight. Smoking engine isn't a real big deal if the rest is in good shape.

I'll keep the contact info to my self for now :).

Nearly 2 years ago I paid $750 for my 85.

The before pictures and info are here.

It came with some spares but needed a lot.

The offer you got looks like a much better deal.

I guess it all comes down to your location. I don't think $750 is too out of line. New plastic is a big selling point. Looks like a 86 model from the clutch cable routing. Prolly has the better frame if it is a 86. Its missing skid plates and chain cover so I would most def check for engine case damage. You could prolly make one good x from everything you have and sell the crapper and recoup some of your money back. If you get it post up some pics. Good luck!

I looked at it, don't even look like the same machine.... only thing that really matched up was the front fender does look new, tank looks 'ok' and the rears are scuffed up quite a bit. I don't like the plastics on it, the rears are a pain to fight over top the plastic tank, mine with the plastic tank + oem rears i like 10x better. Take the plastics off, the shape matches the one I paid $300 for except the bearings feel tight and the engine seems pretty tight. Owner says it smokes, I couldn't get it to even start (yes it has gas and is on). Airbox had a bit of sand in the bottom, not really a big deal I guess. Oil dip stick o ring is missing, low on oil, and way over due, very black. Tires look sun faded quite a bit, every thing I touched on it is half frozen up from sitting. Clutch cable is froze up, rear brake lever froze up.

He claims it has sat for ~1 month, and has owned it less than a year. He must be extremely hard on his machines, or he is flat out lieing. I don't trust what he says, so I'm walking away from it. If anyone is really interested, I'll let him know and see if he wants me to forward his info on. I already have a machine that needs a lot (well I have most of the parts now), just a big uglier plastics and more oil leak than this one.

Bummer dude. I guess if it's not what your looking for it's not what your looking for. You did right by not buying something that really wasn't going to help you out. Believe it or not theres plenty of 350x's out there keep looking dont get discouraged.

thanks for the support swampthang, I have a 86 350x that can run and ride, just so rigged up lol. My ad was for a 'parts' machine, just for some spare parts for cheap, but by how this guy described his machine it ONLY needed the top end refreshed, and the photos made it look great, so I had to atleast look :).

I'm still looking for the parts machine for cheap, or a cheap nice rider that is clean, I do have someone that would love riding the 2nd one with me cuz he can't afford one.
