lol, i was gona say 42D, sounded like you were talking about bra's, lol, well anyways...when you have that 420 jet in it, how does it run?, does i bog down and smoke like its flooding?, or does it sputter like its not geting enough gas?

if it is bogging down and smoking then the jet it to big, try a 410 jet, the keep going down from there ( 400, 390, 380), (it goes by 10's)

if its sputtering like its not getting enough gas then the jet is too small, try a 430 jet, and keep going up untill it runs good ( 440, 450, 460....)

jets are pretty cheap at a local atv dealer, i can get them for like $2.00

if the banshee jets fit it good, then i dont see why you couldnt use them......i have heard that the banshees had some similar parts as the tri-z anyways, and there both yamaha, so why not?

well what size jet is a 470 as to the jets in a banshee?? ie- stock banshee runs 190 i have 220 is one and 250 in another so what would the comparison to 470 in a tri-z = ??? to a banshee??

the trike has been sitting for awhile and smokes like a motherhumper. plus i want to play with the jets myself. help me thanks mike

i dont know what tr-z jets are equal to in banshee jets, but if its a smaller number then try that one, cuz it sounds like its to big, so start with the next smallest number you have, then keep going down untill its good.....thats all i can say.......also ...something like this happened on my freinds, the carb wasnt working right cuz it was missing the splash guard, does your carb have the splash guard? (plastic or metal guard looking thing that goes in next to the main jet)

Im not sure, but I think 470 is stock, so thats a good place to start. As far as banshee jets, go theres no magical conversion. They both run Mikuni. They, in fact are much smaller, because Banshee carbs are much smaller. Remember, Banshees run 2 carbs, one per cylinder, so they need to be a lot smaller, and no matter what youve done to your triZ, a 220 or 250 main will melt your piston.

a way to do it is to check plug color, put in a new plug, put it in first gear and drive it WOT. leave it in first gear thats all you need don't be afraid to rev it thats how you tell what it needs. if it stumbles and smokes lean it out if, it kinda pops and cuts out bump it up a little. banshee jets should be alot smaller than tri z jets. Tri z displacement is 249cc's and one banshee cylinder is 175cc's a 470 main is stock I do beleive. with a 65 pilot I think. I can't quite remember I have swithch carbs and am trying to jet a different carb now. its a 38 mm flatslide and it runs smaller jet sizes the the stock VM32SS carb off the Z. main jets only count for 3/4 to full throttle. you can change pilot jets and move the needle up and down, you move the needle up it gets more gas through the range move it down the motor gets less. You also have the air adjust screw on the side of the carb, should be 1 1/2 turns out, that controls off idle, closed to 1/4 throttle. you want to get it as lean as possible without it cutting out or popping. . Keep an eye on your plug color and make sure the motor is warm before you go making top speed runs down the driveway.

Hey Mike, you dont need to seek "TriZ jets". You just need a Mikuni jet of the same style (theres about 3), within a reasonable size range. For example, if you have a 470, and you need to go down, take it out, and go to the local dealer, and say "I need some Mikuni jets like this in 465, 460 and 455." They will have them there at around $3-4 each, and you take them home. They are not cataloged by make and model.
