I can't tell if that thing is mint, or soaked in WD-40, but if it's mint and you plan in using it a $1,000 doesn't seem like too much. A beat up POS for $300 will cost you an easy extra $1,000 just to make it reliable and it will be a month or more before you swing a leg over it. My $0.02.

nice 200s yes. showroom condition no.. hell its missing a brake lever and cable. it also apears to have a tear in the shock boot and the rim looks rusty but that may be the poor quality pic. id say if it runs flawless and you can get it for $800 or less it would be a ok deal just because of the nice rear rack.

I think that thing is mint. A 200s in that condition is hard to find. Those things seem to get beat on the most, at least thats what mine was good for when I was 14 and all the ones here in NH for sale are destroyed.

I found a nice little 200m last summer in Michigan in that good of shape..it was left to die 19 years ago in this guys garage when his brother left the state for work promising to come back for it. He never did..
There is sat until the guy got tired of looking at it..then he put it on CL for me to find. Tires are original and have 95% tread, but they have been sitting flat so long that the weather checking is thru to the cords. Also the petcock was left open and the entire contents of the tank evaporated out thru the carb years ago, leaving a gummy mess..
I have cleaned the carb and tank, changed the oil and since gotten it running..but it's sitting in my shop waiting for me to finish it.
As clean a specimen as you will ever find for $200..I love the clean finds!!!

This is how it looked when it came home..uncleaned!

Very nice find dougspcs...probably the best deal I've seen yet!
As for the 200S BIGRED1985, I agree that $1000 may be a bit on the high side, but I don't think it's unreasonable. I wouldn't say you got a sweet deal if you bought it at this price, but wouldn't say you got ripped off either. If I were in your shoes I'd feel better picking it up for $700-800. Like always it comes down to what you want/need. If don't really want a 200s (you mentioned that you're looking for another Big Red) then buying this might only be to satisfy your addiction. I'm no doctor, but speculate that you're experiencing the symptoms....

i woke up this morning and told myself that there is nothing like a big red. so i decided against it. much like big g said, buying the 200s would only satisfy the addiction. thanks everyone for your input. in the meantime i am going to keep waiting and savin up. cheers everyone

I picked this up for $350, all rebuilt motor, brand new tires, chain, brakes, everything fully functional.

When i first saw that ad i almost went to my barn to make sure my dads 200s was still there. Then i saw the center of the rack missing and figured i was safe. Lol
Dad passed in 93, i havent ridden his trike in about 10 years. I should get it running, i think that should be a priority.
His 200s is nicer than that, it even has oldschool dual bolt pattern mitchell wheels w woolys on them. It does need a rear lever to be 100%.
If i had to sell the toys for some reason that would stay over all the others. I rode it every year on fathersday tilll it wouldnt start in 04/05ish, been sitting since.
