Of all the humanity ...I rarely see the 2nd Gen R's with Astro conversions.

I was on a mission to get it converted back and ended up putting a 3rd Gen R front end on it.

Still have things to sort out, but its back on three wheels and the Astro kit is for sale. :Bounce

Nice work getting it back on 3! The 3rd gen front end is actually a really good upgrade. You can still use the 2nd gen headlight and guard, all you have to do is make a couple spacers out of flat thin steel, and bolt the guard to the holes in the lower tripple. It gives it that stock 2nd gen look if thats what your shooting for, plus its probly cheaper than the 3rd gen headlight. How do you like the ride of the air fooler?

If you were doing some good for the neighborhood, you wouldn't offer that Astro kit for sale, you would scrap it!! Nice job getting it back on three, looks great!:beer

Hey Mr clean, do you still have the front and rear fenders from the astro kit or any front end parts?

Cool, I never thought the quad front end was worth that much. I found one like this and I think the one you have and mine are both the 3x4 conversions and not Astros. Thanks for the response though

Hang me for saying this if you want. Those kits, like it or not are a part of The history of 3 wheelers. I would have personally left it the way it was, but it is not my machine.

Most likely someone will end up welding it to another R frame, I would have just sold the frame and got another 3 wheeler frame for it knowing that. Save the time and another original frame. either way I don't think there is a right or wrong way here.

The kit did NOT require any welding, it was completely bolt on.

It bolted up to the foot-peg mounts and a stem went into the steering neck.

Oh I see, didn't know it was a bolt on

I will be converting this one back to trike as well.

Where are you finding all these? What are you going to use as the front end?

The air cooled came from Sin City. The KX was found in San Diego.

For the KX my plan is to find a running 86 KX60 and swap the ass end. The kit is welded on, so not sure what will be done with it, but I will have no use for it then. I have a buddy who has a water jet and he said when I get to that point we can make some triples.
