Can somebody please post a pic of the OEM mounting of the muffler/silencer on 86 Tri Z? I am assuming there must be a hangar or something missing, becuase mine only has one bolt now and is very loose. It moves quite a bit just touching it. Also is there an alternative to the stock exhaust gasket? Will any other model work or is there something else that can be used in this application? I will post a pic of my mounting as soon as I can get a pic.

I think 5 is the important one, keeps it from swaying I think. Seen an old set on ebay but the guy wants $40. Gonna get aftermarket exhaust eitherway and the DG silencers only look to have 1 mounting location. Heads up if anyboady has a set they can get rid of, Ill take them

Here's a few I have that might help. One is the bike as I bought it, and the other two are after I finished rebuilding it. There is a different silencer in both sets, but the mounts is the same.

Hope it helps,

Blake

It does help, but i dont see any of the hangar mounts in your pics. I do see one on the expansion chamber in the old pic. Does the muffler bolt directly to the frame?

Yeah, its a little tough to see. There is a hanger for the silencer. It isn't very big, but it is there. The silencer bolts to it, and then it bolts to the frame. Its maybe 2.5 inches long and about 1 inch wide.
