What year kx 250 dirtbike ignition is it that works in the Tecate? How hard is it to install/wire up? Does it give any performance gain?

Does anyone know about this?
I think it's the 82-83 model years that are the "match" for the early T3's. But you would loose your lighting coil.
But all T3's use the same stators, so probably the early power valve KX's will work also.
Whats wrong w/ yours? If it's just your stator, replace it for $80. I dont think there is an advantage to changing the whole system over to another Kawi system.

well the kx set up is lighter and revs faster. it is easy to hook up/ you can use the 83-86.

Well I have a new Rickey stator system on the way but i read that u get a performance gain and I am not worried bout the lights. So you have to replace the flywheel too?
To use a KX stator, yes, you have to use a KX flywheel.
The KX system is the way to go in my opinion. There are kits to add lighting coils to MX bikes.
