I just picked up a set of 04-05 TRX 450R hubs to try and swap out my Tri Z hubs. Seems like they are very tight. I read on here they will work, but you want something older so splines are worn. Will I be able to get these on the axle without hammer the s**t out of them?

Ya. They are a tight fit. They are almost exact, but the splines have a slightly different dimmension. You will probably have to bang.

They will go on though, if I work it?

Just re sell those and get 250X- 300 ex hubs from an older model from like pre 98 that will have some wear. You dont wanna hammer those new ones on. You will never get em off.. Older worn 300ex hubs slip right on with a good fit.

I thought about going banshee, but wanted to stick with the 4/110 pattern, so I could swap out with wheels I already have on my suzuki quads. The banshee runs 4/115 for most part. Lonestar makes some aluminum hubs that are banshee splines with 4/110 lug pattern for about $180, but was trying to acomplish same thing much cheaper . Plus, nothing is quite as strong as the OEM ones, ive heard. Mosh may have some nice older 250x hubs that will work for me, so will probably go that route.

I put 86 t3 hubs on a ytm 200 which would basically be the same as you are trying. I used a 3/4" flap wheel on a die grinder to take the inside of the hubs down a little. perfect fit after that.

i tried 200x and 400ex hub on my tri z and they wont go on without some force, as mentioned above, the spline dimension is different, i too have a bunch of honda/suzuki wheels that i would like to swap on but id rather get some banshee wheels and not damage my axle. i had wondered if i stuck some honda hubs in the oven and get them hot and try to slide them on in the early morning or late night when the axle is cold but im worried about trying to get them off later so banshee hubs is what im running.

I had a like-new TriZ axle and put a set of brand new TRX450R hubs on it bought on ebay for about $15. I had to heat the hubs up with propane, and hammer them on greased axle splines THE FIRST TIME. After that, light tapping is all that is required. The hubs are softer than the axle, and will stretch. Since there is absolutely no slop, they tend to last forever if they start out as a very tight match of hubs to axle.

All three of my Z's have Honda hubs, as 4/110 is a lot more common and can switch with Jr's R.
