As Bruce Springsteen would say, she ain't a beauty, but hey she's alright. Picked this baby up for $350. Needs some tlc, but well worth saving, imho.

You did well for 350 dude. I just sold one that needed much love without the plow for $375. Yours looks nice. Does it run good?

It needs an air filter and core, and rear brake work. It runs, but not great. Should be an easy fix. I also need to find a muffler for it, and do a WHOLE lot of detailing. I may just adapt the plow to fit the nicer of my pair of 250BRs, and swap the rims and tires if they will interchange. I figure the plow is worth what I paid for the entire rig.

Someone has the blade part of the plow mounted wrong... should sit on top of the hoop, not under it. Very good deal, you did well.

Wrong.. That plow is the way it should be. The plow has a bolt welded into the plate that sticks up for the pivot point. There is no way to mount the blade to the top of the hoop, the top of the hoop also has a recess cut into the top plate for the washer and nut that goes on the pivot bolt. Also if you flipped it and bolted it down from the top then the trip springs would be on the bottom of the plow, that wouldn't work.. Looks just like mine.

You stole that thing, i could get $400 for the plow alone!!

I just got done pushing a huge amount of snow around with mine last night and today. Its a plowing machine.. I put v-bar chains on the tires and it was unstoppable.

I still have to bring this plow trike home. Can anyone offer any suggestions as how to get it to fit on a Chevy S10 shortbox pickup? At 60 miles one way, I only want to make one trip. Best idea I have come up with is to remove the blade from the frame, load the trike front first, and place the blade along side of the trike. I realize that the plow frame will cause the trike to sit back a bit, just don't know if the rear wheels will be on the tailgate, and if so, if it would be safe to transport in that fashion. Any input will be greatly appreciated!

put the trike in backwards and let the plow sit on/over the tailgate

The plow is really easy to remove, i replied to your PM as well. If nothing else just remove the pivot bolt nut and drop the blade off, but removing the entire plow from the trike takes only a couple minutes tops.

Oh you mentioned a muffler... DG Exhaust makes a complete bolt on replacement, i bought one of their's from Dennis Kirks for like $150 shipped on sale if i remember right. Is it louder than stock? A bit... Does it work great and fit great, Yes!

If your muffler is rotted out the DG will probably even sound quieter... Mine did. Has a nice thumping idle to it now and doesn't get that tinny when revving, i like it.

I actually thought of that, but upon measuring and finding only about a 20" distance from the front of the box to the wheel well, my concern is that the rear rack of the trike would likely break the rear window of the truck. I could be wrong, as I have been before (too many times to count!). Thank you for your help; I will look into your suggestion further.

You got that right, kb! It will be here Sunday, one way or the other. And thanks to your advice, I have a pretty fair idea of what to bring along, and how to take the plow apart. Thanks to all; you have helped a great deal. I have a friend with utility trailer that would would pick this up for $50. I might just run with that...

Hmm... something looks odd about it, like the hoop is too high for the plow position... anyway, here's mine.

...pretty sure the angle selector pin on my 200es was confiscated from a prison, and thus not OEM Cycle Country fare.

Thanks so much, xer! What awesome reference photos! Good stuff, indeed. Wish I could post pics like that. I am one of about a dozen human beings that still have a dial-up ISP. My photo upload speeds are measured in birthdays...

I see why he thought yours and mine are wrong, he has the later version just before they stopped making them. In the later versions they had that lever you pull to adjust the angle and the piece welded on the front end of the hoop or horseshoe mounting tube is welded on with a bit more of a down angle. The quad plows with that type mount have that angle to, i think they changed it to tilt the blade a bit more.

LOL... Mine had a carriage bolt shoved through to hold it, i bought a new lawn tractor hitch pin for that.

Thats a really nice later production model! I saw one of those down here on CL, it sold for $500 before i could even call about it.

HA HA! You mentioned plowing and fun in the same sentence! I absolutlely HATE plowing. I manage to get my 1989 Ramcharger stuffed at least twice a year. Perhaps this little wheeler will be a bit more maneuverable.

I spent 9 years searching for a plow. After 7 i found a plow and setup then took another two years to find the brackets to mount it up. People love these things and the people that have them dont want to give them up. I found my plow not on this site or ebay but on a different site and worked with the guy to ship it. Paid $175 shipped and to be honest i stole that thing lol

Getting back to your question on transporting your trike in a S-10, you can always extend your box some by putting an 8' x 3/4" plywood on the bed floor and creating an extension of sorts. If your worried about the over hung weight, run some 2 x 4's under also.

Thanks for the tip, coolpool. As an aside; your trikes are simply awesome!!! I have a very heavy steel sheathed solid core exterior house door that just slips between the fender wells of my truck. It may be just what I need to "extend" my cargo carrying capabilities. I haven't slept for a few nights just figuring out how to bring this trike home. Kinda reminds me of a picture I saw once... I believe it was a General Motors full size pickup truck with something like a Ford Taurus lashed crosswise on the bed. Scrap yard bound, no doubt! One of the funniest images that I have seen in some time.

I was able to fit 2 full size machines and a 70 in my 6 ft dodge bed. I was also worried about breaking the glass. I ended up using a couple pieces of wood behind the tires of the machine reversed into the glass. Gave me a some space between the rack and glass to strap it down.

I know the S-10 box is smaller, but I think between putting the wood down, and building a small extension like mentioned before you will be MINT. It is a steal for that price, I looked and looked for a plow for my 85 BR. I ended up just buying a blade and winch and making my own to be honest.

Looks nice!

I just got home with the trike. It couldn't have been much easier. I loaded the trike nose first, and put the plow along side of it with the plow facing down and the plow frame facing up. I strapped down both sides of the plow frame and was good to go. The front fender is cracked, as is the sub transmission cover. But at under $375, including fuel cost, I think I did just fine. Once again, thanks to all that offered helpful advice. You really are a good bunch!

You win some, you lose some. The frame area behind the motor is rusted right out. Sure wish I had noticed that before. DOH! Looks like I'll keep the plow and part out the 200es. Unless I can find a solid frame for it. I have owned over 40 motorcycles and never had a frame rust out. Talk about being ridden hard and put away wet!

Post up some pictures of the damage, all is not lost yet. You said right behind the motor, which tubes are rusted out? Its not too hard to cut out the rusted pieces and weld in new ones on these, the frame is really basic tube work on them.

The motorcycles probably didn't see the constant abuse and exposure this old red did. And if its been plowing for a lot of its life thats a lot of snow its been through also.

Thanks as always, kb, for your help. I have a friend that is a great welder. He suggested that we foo-foo the the frame with some plate, square stock, or what ever is most practical to reinforce the frame. Just looking to get through the winter. I will do the frame swap (after I locate one) during the warmer months. This trike is still just too nice to part out. Thanks again, everyone!

There is a 200ES frame on ebay right now, might be worth a look. Looks pretty solid in the pictures and its fully torn down.

I've seen ones with the angle pin selector and ones without. Mine doesn't have it either. Love to get my hands on one, though. I have the pin itself, just not the plate to use it. Oh well.
