I recently change the tire on the front of my 83 185s and the fork tube boots were all cracked up so I cut them off but when I tried to pull the tubes out to replace them they wouldn't budge. I took both bolts out and nothing moved. I also want to get my fork back red instead of white but I don't want mess them up in the process because they work perfectly. Any ideas guys on how to get them out?159109

Stick a pry bar in the slot and spred slightly...

Yeah i just use a thick flat head screw driver and tap it into the slot to spread it apart then i spray abit of lube like wd40 in the bolt holes and in to the slot and i just wiggle the fork tube until it slides out . They can be hard to get out some times. The pry bar would work too!

They usually get stuck if they are the tiniest bit bent. Like previously stated, pry it apart. For grip wrap a piece of rubber around the tube and spin with hands or channel locks..

I don't wanna be "that guy" but I'm just making sure you have both bolts all the way out? I figure you do, but just making sure. One of the bolts goes into a notch in the fork tube
