wow that looks really nice. i had one. it was fast for me. mine had a DG pipe but i think factory carb still. the powerband was always right there. always ready to go. i had a factory Z and it was more like having a turbo. you had to get it reved up to get the powerband. i found out later in 81 the 250R only had about 20 HP and they were double when they quit making them. i cant imagine how fast the liquid cooled ones are. these 81s feel smaller and lower to the ground than the newer taller ones. depends on what you like....

The first gens have a smaller wheel base and less travel in the suspension. The carbs are significantly smaller. That said, I'm running a 28mm, and it keeps up just fine. The smaller size is nice for trail riding, and the wide front tire is good in the snow and on ice.
If you want to do anything for extreme or aggressive, they aren't hard to upgrade: bigger carb, wider wheel hubs, etc.

Clean looking wheeler for sale. Looks like the forks and front wheel might have been swapped for a 2nd gen R or a 200X.

$850 for that...I'd own it already. That trike would probably go for Over $1000 around here.

That one needs to be in your garage by now! Very clean. I had a guy call me from an hour south west of me with one for sale. I think his was $800 but no where near as nice as this one.

That one was over $1000. I've been watching it for a few months now. Looks good from here!

If I lived closer I'd buy it for that price if it is as nice as it looks in the photo.
