re posted as a glitch deleted my last one.
159392
so my 85 wasn't up to stratch when we raced down in culham earlier on this year so I wanted an 86 that I could have a play with and get it up to a deasent standard to ride and race HARD.
and I ended up with this159393 159394 but didn't like it,
so I did this 159394 which seamed like a great idea at first but them remembered I had no forks and two small wheels instead of one, which in England was a bit of a pain because all the trikes over here are full of rust, but with a fair bit of routing around I got most of the parts I neaded.
so the games began, first was the strip down process and cleaning up the scrap ends of the old quad frame welds which went nicly and also beefed up the footpeg mounts as I didn't fancy them coming off and running my leg over AGAIN159395159396159397159398
off to the powder coaters we went with EVERYTHING lol I went for the original red as I had the white plastics (well just the back one at this stage) and I like the look but I went for the black rims and white hubs (I know.... stolen the idea fom another thread on here, just looked to good)
I also took all my rusty nuts and bolts to be zink plated which looks awesome

ifound some forks and clamps but they were in a real bad way but the day before I was going to have them re-hard chromed I spoke to the old owner of my local yam trike dealer from back in the day (thank jp from ten four) and he had a pair stashed away in the back of his garage from the days when he was buying trike from Yamaha with the quad extension and welding them on himselve. I had a joke with him when I asked him "who the hell welded these things up??? it looks like someone welded it up drunk in there shed" and he said yea it was me ha ha ha.which he then pulled out a near new headlight set at which point I was doing sumersalts until some clown had cut off the lugs that attach it to the bottom yolk so that had to be plastic welded so that it stayed in place.
so that left us with a LOT a spanking shiney bits but no bearings, bushes ect... (like I said 'seamed like a good idea at the time') wow they arnt cheap for oem but I persevered and got it on three wheels with the rear shock all gased up and new seals on the forks just to be safe with 450ml of 15wt fork oil in it seamed to feel good but I think a bit heavier oil would of been better we'll see how she rides,
I managed to score lucky on uk ebay one night and grab myselve a few bits159399along with a big help from mr n mrs mosh at cosmic quads (us) I got myselve a spanking clutch case and billet water pump159400the engine I had ported polished 159401159402

and the extra boyasen port added to a 69.5mm piston with .04mm tolarence and god damb its got some compression, had the hole engine striped and glass bean blasted with a new rod and bearings through out (yam again) exept the mains which are koyo c3's along with a 38mm tmx 03'cr 250r carburetta and blanked off the boost port.159403 oh she sound well!!!http://i1173.photobucket.com/albums/r586/jcormode/FB71EE31-38D7-4950-88C3-98650EFE0E5B-294-0000002C725EE807_zps525f43c3.jpg I had some silicone hoses made from dph which fitted swaeet along with and inline cooler for that little extra cooling the rads are gmx oversized radiators specialy made for the zhttp://i1173.photobucket.com/albums/r586/jcormode/DCD04F73-130C-438F-8ACE-D3087076C341-294-0000002B5D7CD61E_zpsca644266.jpghttp://i1173.photobucket.com/albums/r586/jcormode/61C1F9EB-D197-4634-8C73-C1E655EB2C5C-239-0000000B3799EB51_zps0769e698.jpg
I picked up banshee cheap and stole the nerf barf off it and made them to fit but what I didn't do was make them fit when the pipe was on so resulted in thishttp://i1173.photobucket.com/albums/r586/jcormode/D00C5B2D-19BC-42AD-A3C7-AB382F595B7E-239-0000000B70A2DE15_zpsf267b573.jpg
so they have gone back to the shop for a re fit! atm im stuck with the standards.

I took it to be jetted and dyno'd at viper racing uk and after a little felttle desided it was a complete waist of time because of the nobble not sticking to the rollers but we did it anyway just for the crack and oh my god did she get reved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! sounded awesome but we lost approx. 12-15 hp with nobbles the guy said but I wasn't bothered because ide just sean that my fully rebuilt engine could rev like a Kawasaki ninga! and stay at a nice temperature.
so off to the track we went the day after and after an hourish hit a massive bog on the track that ide been avoiding and she die'ed had to get toes back took plug out and was FULL of sh1t Dammit no compression and a smashed up plug only ment that it had a hole somewhere and she did!! with having the carb off to change the jets at the dyno I undid the jub clip on the back of the carb and never replaced it and that was where my hole was caked in mud and dirt and stones
:twisted::twisted::twisted::twisted::twisted::twis ted::twisted::twisted::twisted::twisted::
resleave rebuild and do it all over again wahooooo

im going to drop my other engine in her today because im eager to ride it again as it handled great. I took the barrel off yesterday and it looks like its sucked in something that's caught behind the ring and bust the ring and jammed the engine, what is a little bit of a bummer is that its looks like its damaged something down below as it wont make a full revolution mabe bent rod, crank,or hopefully just the bearings? ive gota split it again anyway so think the kids will be having coal of santa this year ha ha ha.
I don't think it would be appropriate to post what the mrs called me as ide probly get thrown off the site. I think you lot can emajine her reaction when I told her that all the engine work I did has to be done again. oooppps,
