Nice work, I had thought about going down this road once, but had read that it couldn't be done very easily because of sprocket alignment. So did you plumb the oil system up through the stock coolers? 350X exhaust? Frame mods? I was impressed to see the stock airbox and snorkel in place. Looks like a clean job.

well if a 400ex motor will fit in a 350x frame, does that mean a 400ex motor will fit in a 300ex frame? use to have a 350x motor in my 300ex frame.

The only frame mod i had to do was remove the bracket that bolts up stock header to the frame. I made an oil tank from an a/c drier had to gut it out and reweld together and add the valve cover breather fitting, return, inline. I used the port where the low side port for the oil filler just had to make an oil cap for it. Also used the stock oil cooler.. That oil tank probably holds 4ounces less oil than 400 stock set up. Never had an overheating issue probably because bike is lighter and more aerodynamic. There is a bottom engine mount that bolts right up to the 350 frame! The second you put motor on the frame you can slide in your first bolt!!! Its all down hill from there.. I used the 400ex dg dg oval exhaust. Just had to cut 1/4" end of header and light do some hand bending and it all bolts right up! All i have on mybile is exhaust , jets, cdi, 1 up in front and 1down rear from the 2006 sprocket and hit 80.1 on my best run... Avg is 78.8mph... Didnt loose take off with gearing because bike is lighter than a 400... I really doubt you can put this motor in any other trike you only have prob 3/4 of an inch of clearance on height with this frame prob even less!! Well if you guys need anything else just ask!

My frame was intact... And believe it or not but the 400 motor is lighter and smaller than 350... The 350 you have a hard time in removing and replacing and 400 is sooo much easier.... Also used the stock emergency brake perch lever to be my reverse cable assembly and used the big red reverse cable and eorks perfect with the stock look!
